Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has said that he has been deeply saddened over the murder of innocent children in Chunian. "It is the responsibility of the government to provide justice to the bereaved families and this responsibility would be fulfilled at every cost," he said. He said that IG Police has been directed to arrest the criminals as soon as possible adding that this case would be brought to its logical end.

"All the demands of justice would be fulfilled by the government and justice will be ensured. Provision of timely justice to the affected families is my responsibility and the dreadful criminals will not escape from a deterrent punishment," the CM said, adding: "The criminals are not humans but savage beasts and a burden on land, he added. Everyone is saddened and the government is siding with the bereaved families."

Moreover, on the directions of Chief Minister, DSP Chunian and SHO have been suspended for showing negligence in the children's murder case. The Chief Minister made it clear that strict action will be initiated wherever negligence has been shown by the police.

The provincial ministers Hashim Dogar and Sardar Asif Nakai visited the residences of the bereaved families in Chunian and expressed a deep sense of sorrow and grief. They also assured the provision of justice on behalf of the chief minister.

Usman Buzdar also directed the Law Minister Raja Muhammad Baharat and IG Police to reach Chunian adding that both should visit the place of crime and console the bereaved family members as well.
